A Manicure and your session || Idaho Falls, ID Boudoir Photographer

Getting a manicure before your session isn’t required, but you should because you know you totally deserve one 🤣.
Your nails won’t make or break the session but it is always best to make sure they are cleaned up and painted a solid color if you’d like to make sure they’ll look great.
I would make sure your nail color is a reflection of you — If bright is your jam, go that way. Or if you prefer dark, black or maroon looks amazing. Mary’s nude nails looked amazing with her skin tones. You don’t have to make it complicated, just make sure its a reflection of you! (And that they look nice, no chipped nail polish hot mess express 🤪)
And if all else fails, I have nail polish remover and a few simple basic colors of polish at the studio, because lets be honest, sometimes life happens ♥

Late International Women’s Day || Idaho Falls, ID Boudoir photography

“To all the movers, the makers, the hustlers, the shakers. To those who shout loud, who stand strong, and when needed those who quietly move on. To those who build empires, move mountains, push boundaries, raise babies, make memories and refuse to take no for an answer. You are the ladies paving the way for a new generation who are ready to play. Stand tall and stand proud for all that you are. Not what the media says you should be, but the you that is here, standing now and amazing.”

It’s International Women’s Day and basically I just couldn’t miss an excuse to brag on all the gorgeous ladies who despite their fears and anxiety chose themselves for at least one day and let me in on the celebration 😍
This isn’t even close to everyone, and if I missed your photo I am SO sorry, (Photoshop had a panic attack when I got too many photos involved 🤣) I am so incredibly grateful and thankful for all of you ❤️❤️❤️🎉

Posing and your own session

Part of every session with Cowlicks and Kisses Boudoir studio includes FULL posing advice. I show you every pose, explain it, put you in it and then coach the details like facial expression and fingertips. Shooting generally lasts around two hours we have plenty of time to work through your nerves, get some great outfits in, and a huge variety of poses!

I know the two photos seem ridiculously extreme, but the tiny things add up :: The double chin, the lack of curves, the elongation of the body just by pointing your toes, the arching of the back to create more curves and establish some light and separation between the floor. It’s a lot of little things that add up to make the magic.
I know it seems overwhelming and you’re secretly wondering, how in the actual hell am I going to remember all of that?!?!? But guess what? That’s what I’m here for, I’ve been doing this exclusively for so long now I’ll see those little things and remind you. All I do is pose women, so no need to worry that I’m going to forget how to do my job because I’ve been off posing families for three weeks prior to your boudoir session.
I got you, and your gorgeous booty plus I have all the knowledge to pose you flawlessly 😍😍😍

Bodysuits and how to choose |Idaho Falls, ID Boudoir Photography

Girl, you could choose to be naked the whole shoot and you could totally rock it, but if you’re not quite comfortable with that idea yet, bodysuits are the perfect wardrobe piece that flatters everyone!!

Obviously, there are a gazillion choices in the client wardrobe that all photograph beautifully but if you do want to buy your own, I have a few tips!

  1. Choose high quality pieces!! You are better off to show up with one or two high end pieces than buy a whole bunch of cheapos that are made of cheap material. It shows. Sometimes you get lucky, I’m not going to pretend like there is nothing from Wish.com in the client wardrobe. If you’re going to purchase from there – read the reviews. That’s usually a good indication of what you are ending up with. A few of my favorite places are Victoria Secret, La Senza, and Torrid.
  2. Watch for the details of the piece. Things like lace, ruffles, velvet, are all selling points for me. Those details can help make or break a piece, and make sure the details you choose are ones that match your personality. If you are a glitter girl, you need to rock some sequins! Make sure you choose things that you love, you want your personality to shine through.
  3. Well fitting. Make sure the pieces are well fitting. If they cut into you. it adds unnecessary rolls. If its too big, it hands and doesn’t hug those curves that we will show off. Make sure they fit properly. The way you look in the dressing room mirror isn’t an accurate representation of how hot you’ll look posed perfectly on the bed, but do make sure the pieces you do choose, fit right!

When you book your session, I’ll help you from start to finish. Whether its bringing your own pieces or borrowing whats there – just let me know what you need help with and I’ll make sure we have your gorgeous butt covered (or not if thats what you want!! ) ♥

All of these pieces are available in the client wardrobe

How to prepare for your boudoir or glamour photography shoot || Idaho Falls, ID Boudoir Photographer

How to prepare for your boudoir or glamour photography shoot

There are a few simple things you can do (but rarely remember to do) to make your photo shoot
a huge success!

– Get your nails done – even a simple gel polish is a fantastic thing to do to make you look more put together and as long as your doing your nails, feel free to get your toes done too!

– Try on all your outfits before you come – a week or two before your session make sure to try on your outfits,
make sure you’ve picked out your 5 favorite and make sure they look and feel as good as you remember.

– Gather your accessories – that pair of shoes you love, your favorite necklace, or your fantastic pair of earrings,
don’t forget those details add up!

– Whiten your teeth if you’d like. (this is one I hear all the time that people forgot to do!)

– Make sure you touch up your roots approximately three days before.

– Wax or shave. Part of trying on those outfits is to make sure all of those pesky hairs aren’t showing 😉
If they are, you’ll know what you need to fix beforehand!

The Day-Of Checklist

  • Bare face (wash and apply your usual moisturizer)
  • Clean, dry hair
  • Comfy outfit (to sit in while you’re being styled, make sure its loose so it won’t leave line, also make sure its easy to get off so you don’t mess up your newly styled hair and makeup)
  • 5-6 fitted outfits to wear in photos
  • Pretty nails
  • Clean wedding ring and other jewelry
  • Touched up brows
